PHILOSOPHY
-A Jedi never acts for personal power, wealth or material gain.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
It was a bitingly cold winters night at the Jedi Temple on Courscant when a Padawan on sentry duty watched a skycar came to a halt in the courtyard not far from her post.

The Padawan then watched a young girl hurriedly leave the skycar, a child in her arms, and approached the entrance. The Padawan came forward to see what business the young girl had and then without a word, the girl simply placed the newborn into the Padawan's arms.

Looking at the child and then into the eyes of the young girl, presumably the mother, the Padawan started asking questions of the mother who only looked the Padawan in the eye and pleaded silently for her to take the child.

Looking at the child once more, the Padawan saw he was wrapped in only a thin blanket to protect him from the harsh bite of the chill night wind as it whipped about them. Uncertain at best why a young and presumably unwed mother would come to the Jedi Temple and give her child away, the answer never came...

Kissing the child on the forehead and with one last look at the Padawan as tears streamed from her eyes, running down her cheeks, the mother turned, ran back to the skycar and was never seen or heard from again.

As she watched the skycar pull away at high speed, the Padawan was left with only questions...

Perhaps the mother came, as some have suggested, to hide her child from an abusive father. Perhaps it was to save her child from a less then ideal life. Or perhaps still, it was simply to give her child a better life then the one the mother knew. In the end, it mattered not.

The child was strong, healthy and cared for that night. The next morning the Jedi High Council contacted the authorities and an extensive search began, yet there were no reports of missing or abducted newborn, male children anywhere.

The High Council examined the child and as was a normal procedure, testing revealed the child would grow to be very strong in the Force; he would need only guidance to set his feet upon the path.

Finally it was agreed; it was the will of the Force that the child came to the Jedi Temple and as such, it was the responsibility of the Jedi to keep and nurture the child to maturity. Arrangements were made and after such, the child was given a name - Ambrose Meleema.

In these very early days of his infancy, the young Ambrose was made a ward of the Jedi Temple and soon he began his first tentative steps toward the larger realities, and responsibilities, of becoming a Jedi.

- Master Yoda

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is.”

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

“A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”

- Master Mace Windu

“For the Order and the Republic, I will give anything and everything, including my life.”

“On the mountains of truth, you can never climb in vain. Either you will reach a point higher today, or you will train your powers so that you will climb higher tomorrow.”

“That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.”

- Master Sadar Prim

“Gaze not to long into the abyss, for the abyss has a habit of gazing back into you.”

“One ought to hold onto one's heart; if you let go, you soon lose control of your head as well.”

“The best weapon against an enemy... Is another enemy.”

- Master Lesa Khan

“He who cannot give anything away cannot feel anything as well.”

“One must have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star.”

“Those who cannot understand how to put their thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of debate.”

- Master Telsa Pryde

“He who fights with monsters might take care, lest he becomes a monster himself.”

“One may sometimes tell a lie, but the grimace that accompanies it will always tell the truth.”

“Let your plans be as dark and impenetrable as the night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
