"Here you go," she said cheerily. And she handed him the goblet in feigned innocence. That'll teach him to mess with her ears in public. She couldn't quite suppress the smirk of triumph that stretched across her face.
Why was she so giddy and glowing around him? They just met, yet... she felt like had always known him. A small, inner voice started to tug at her that maybe she should slow down. As usual, she ignored it. What would be the fun in that? Even if he broke her heart tomorrow, she'll always have this night.
"Let me know when you've quenched your thirst," she whispered sweetly.
