Chez's eyes crinkled at the outer edges, the only outward sign of his amusement. Once upon a time he would never have imagined the errant Elen Prince as the proud papa. Then again, he would not have pegged the fierce and defiant Amazon Queen as a loving mother either, no matter what his 'sight' revealed. Of the possible roads, this one was the most surprising.

His gaze swung back, but before gold met sea-green he caught movement near the fireplace. Apparently that escape route had been too smoked clogged and the rodent had backtracked. It was picking its way toward Adrian now oh so very stealthily.
