"Me? Oh, um... well, it-it wasn't snowing when I left. A freak snowstorm caught me by surprise. The snow was blinding in its assault. I had to keep moving else I would've frozen to death. Briefly, I thought I espied a woman in the blizzard. Perhaps a yuki-onna, one of the snow brides I've heard about in my many travels. Then again, I might've hallucinated the whole thing. I don't know. I just know that, in a moment of desperation, I... sang. A counter-song of banishment, just in case. The storm cleared, but I was quite turned around. This inn was the next thing I saw. Thought I'd take refuge before taking anymore chances."
She squinted up at him, an incredulous look upon her face. "You're a messenger of Fate? And Lord of Time... Prince... all that... is true?"
She wasn't much a believer of Fate. If such a thing as thread of Fate existed, no doubt some kitten had gotten a hold of hers and treated it with the same respect as a ball of yarn. That would explain a few things.
Perhaps, with enough wine, she might just go along with that. She had met quite a lot of people in her travels, some of them were quite delusional. Though none of them was quite this good-looking. Seemed a pity.
