Sassafras sat in a corner booth sipping his eggnog. He was happy to be inside and out of the cold. He'd been traveling through the wilderness for a long time. He was especially happy to eating anything that wasn't snake meat. He'd seen and heard the squirrels on the way in. But as long they were squirrel-sized and didn't shoot lasers from their eyes, Sassafras was happy to let them be.
He'd been happily watching the Amazon try to decorate the tree when something came crashing down the chimney. He covered his mug of nog with his hand to keep any ashes from getting in it. He glowered at the interruption and wondered when his boiled potato would be out. His brass snake skinning knife poked him in the side so he fidgeted in his booth as he waited.
