"Probably the allocatium," Seravel mused She withdrew a notebook and pencil from her voluminous sleeves. The book opened itself and the pencil began scribbling to the sound of her higher pitched, lilting voice. "A dram was too little, but an ounce was clearly far too much. Something in-between should do the trick. I suppose I went diagonally instead of sideways. Not a good thing. It's amazing I didn't end up stuck in a door again. That was a mess to un-stick."
She cackled before she shoveled a big bite of the gelatin-topped cake-pie-ice cream concoction into her small mouth. "What about you, Vath..." She couldn't remember the rest of his name."Vath..."
It was on the tip of her brain. What was it? Her eyes brightened and she thumped the table in success. "Vathrian!"
By then, of course, she forgot what she asked him.
