"Yeah, well." Laura tipped her head back and downed the entire glass of wine in one go, sat the glass back down, picked up the bottle herself, then poured another round on her own, this one a double portion.
"If everyone followed natural order, and merrily let the Fates spin their threads without even trying to buck the grand scheme of things, you'd have never even been born; I'd have died when I slit my wrists back in Texas... alternatively, I'd be with Cayde right now, instead of here with you, Silver Kin would be killing Black Kin... and... well." She slowed down to take a breath, "The Fates just piss me off well and good. And since I know that cold indifference routine of yours, I'll be pissed off for you. How's that?"
