"Yeah, well, you know. I've been here once before. That qualifies as an 'always' when you're from Texas." She made a negligent gesture with a hand and tilted her head to the side, "I'll reserve my opinion on spurs for later, and I do have an opinion... as for your mother -" She reached for the glass and paused. It bothered her when people wouldn't look her in the eye. In some cases, it meant they felt you were beneath them, in others, it meant someone was hurting.
With Marius, she knew for certain it wasn't the former.
"Haven't seen her in years." Her brown eyes remained on his face, her fingers hovering a fraction from the glass, "Well, not in the flesh anyway."
